I have used CS2s now, and the extra AD/DA conversion seems well worth the overhead. The open baffle design relies heavily on the strong use of EQ and the steep crossover slopes made possible by the Behringer, (& active EQ in general.) These speakers cannot bypass the Behringer with any decent results.
Vinyl fans may recoil from any AD/DA conversion, but remember the Behringer does it at 24/96, while CDs do it at 16/44.1 - While CDs can have audible digital artifacts, the higher bitrates in the Behringer make its AD/DA process the least of its problems. Some people thing the analogue components in the Behringer need improving, but mine has been modded by Cullen Circuits, and I do not detect any noise, distortion, or coloring.
This forum seems all but abandoned.
