I agree with Victor - 807 All the Way

I also have the adapters so I can drop 807s in. The grerat thing about the 807 besides that they sound so good is that you can get NOS pairs pretty cheap, less than $50 (The adapters will cost $50). It's because they made millions of the 807s for military use, and they're not really used for anything anymore so they are plentiful.
I like the 807s in the TU-879 better than the any of the 6L6s I tried, Svetlana EL34s, and Russian 63Ps-e (or whatever the heck they are).
