One of the problems with acquiring an amp like this, having apparently home-grown modifications, is a lack of documentation describing what was done.
As long as it is functioning and you like the way it sounds, you might leave it as it is. To be able to work with the existing modifications in the event of problems, you'd have to trace-out the circuit with your eyes and reverse-engineer a schematic.
If problems arise that are too difficult to resolve while retaining the existing modifications, then you might consider taking it apart and rebuilding it to the original Dynaco configuration or consider one of the "mods" that are available and documented.
