Favorite tube for the 3A premium driver board.

Hi... I will be building a ST-70 clone using Joe's 3A driver and S7P power boards and wondered what your favorite driver tubes are. The plan is to use some inexpensive 6N1P tubes for the initial build and testing, then upgrade to some 'better' tubes when done. I know there are some nice (but expensive) 7308's or 6DJ8's tubes out there, but will I hear enough benefit to justify the high cost. So... What tubes have you tried and like the best?
