I owned a pair of those amps(might be mine) with that front end. If I am not mistaken Tubes4hifi.com did their board that way. Roy Mottran might be able to give you some information of setting the AC balance properly but a good friend and well qualified tech used to tell me find the midpoint of the pot and leave it there. At that point if the pot is accurate enough that would be close enough for government work.

I think you have to send an AC signal into both RCA inputs and use your meter. it gets a bit complicated but if you really need help on it Roy Mottran or even Jim McShane can tell you how. The H-K Citation II uses the AC balance but as I said I just put the pot in the middle. I never really knew what it di except to maybe keep the signals going into the amp equal, sorta like a balance control if you will.
