I have been open to both formats. I have argued with pro SACD people (Teresa comes to mind....sorry Teresa) even though I have a slight preference for SACD.
But I argue, even if DVD-A is better and if it wins, I hope they can fix the access to layers. I think players should be standardized, so if you wish to use a TV or not just pressing a button gets you to the type of output you want with clear indication on the player that yes you are in hi-rez stereo. You say buy a better player........well I will if I am convinced that the user interface for this messy format is clear. Until then it is redbook and SACD for me thank you.If they want to add more complexity to DVD-A they could add redbook, but why when the format is too complex as it is?
Anyway. I dont think too many quiver. I dont. I can switch formats if I need to. I dont care if its SACD or DVD-A. If its DVD-A I hope the user interface gets a little more intuitive.
