New DVD-Audio music releases and talk about the latest players.

The DVRA1000's firmware contains a list of 'supported' brands and types.

When you insert a supported disc the machine brings you right away to the format menu.

When you insert an unsupported disc the machine points this out to you and then asks if you want to format anyway.

I used a bunch of 'unsupported' TDK DVD+RWs. No problems so far.

Then I found that the Philips discs of the local supermarket were actually 'supported' by the Tascam. Tested a few. No problems. I then bought a lot of them. Since then only problems. Go figure.

We have to face it: the DVRA1000's disc management is utter crap. Makes it nearly-useless in live conditions.

All you can do is try (but do stick to DVD+RWs limited to 1-4x speed, faster discs definitely are not supported), keep the discs clean, only use them once, and backup often.
