I have seen other manufacturers do the same thing....the one in black is one number and the one in silver is another.....Probably makes it easier for people not to get confused when they order.....like some Pannies have either a B or K after the basic number (and people don't know what it means....B is Black and K is silver, btw). The 2910 and 955S are discontinued so makes sense that the 955S are being sold at discount....since most people associate Denon with black units and the 955S is relatively unknown.... Something even weirder....look at the Denon site...they have two machines that are the same with different numbers....the DV757 and the DVD-1930Ci.....if you can tell anything different about them (including color)...please, let us know. The 955S is a steal at that price.
