take an analogue signal in and convert it to Alesis's proprietary CD24 format, which is 24 bit, 96kHz. Unfortunately, I can only play that format back on the unit itself, but it's still at a higher bit rate/freq. Michael Fremmer records various phono cartridges in this format, to revisit their sonic signatures latter on down the road.
