... is that you didn't really address his point. Charles' point was that if WMP's HDCD decoder includes a digital filter, then the output will be different even if no HDCD features are used. Now, I don't know squat about HDCD, but after reading a little of the banter between you two, it sounds like all HDCD decoders will incorporate a digital filter. If so, then I think Charles has a point and a simple bitwise sample comparison won't work.I have another newbie question about HDCD. Why do you need to attenuate the output of the HDCD decoder by one bit for comparison?
