"And 24 Bit 96kHz 2 channel is way better than lossy Dolby Digital multi-channel."

Not if you want to listen in surround. The public have clearly demonstrated an interest in multichannel due to the huge number of systems sold, whereas none are particularly interested in high-resolution as the woeful sales of DVD-A and SACD show, let alone high-resolution stereo. The majority can't tell 128kbs MP3 from CD, so what chance does 96/24 have.

"If you want Multi-channel high resolution you really do need a DVD-Audio player."

That was my point.

"You still get 2 channel high resolution on a regular DVD-Video player"

Do you? How many DVD-V players output 96/24 digitally? Most will need to hook up analogue connections to a receiver or pre-amp that doesn't do A/D conversion on its inputs. Hardly "high resolution for the masses" is it.

"CD is also Stereo and is not high resolution it is 16 Bit 44.1kHz so DualDisc does nothing."

Except provide a disc that also works in most CD players. D'uh.
