Listening to two DVD-Audios: Bach/St. Matthew Passion/Harnoncourt (Teldec) and Mozart/Figaro (Naxos)

The St. Matthew Passion contains nearly 3 hours of music at MLP 5.1 96/24! Unfortunately, there is no dedicated stereo track (this is another one of Warner's discs with a misleading back cover) - sound quality is about average, performance excellent.

The Naxos Figaro Highlights also doesn't have a stereo track, but the MLP 5.1 (44.1/24) sounds quite good, despite the 44.1kHz sampling rate. I would highly recommend this disc - I've had a few bad experiences with Naxos (particularly on SA-CD) but this one's a real gem - great performance, and great audio!
