When writing here at AA about the dominance of attacks and decays in the way we get timbre and expression.(Which just is the case, the continuous tone just does not exist for many notes, and for many instruments, it is entirely absent.)
I have pointed out that 'starting transients' aka attacks might be related to what I call startling transients.
Because, for us huming be-ans, the quiet crack of a twig under a leopards paw or under an enemy's foot, might have been, and might still be, crucial to our survival.
