One thing I've learned (and I'm not suggesting that you were claiming otherwise) is that a speaker's efficiency in dB's doesn't tell you the entire story concerning how well it'll be driven by a SET amp. As one speaker manufacturer explained to me, a speaker can be efficient and yet not terribly easy to drive - e.g., it may have an undulating impedance curve that will "bully around" a SET amp. FWIW.
