I am totally gutted. I loved Charley based upon what I read about him, what I read about his products, and what I read from the man himself here in this forum. I always thought it sort of surprising that he chose this forum on this Board to vent about so many things he found abhorrent in the industry. Priceless to me was a post about two or three months ago when I asked-here-if he was willing to name names of people in the industry who had taken credit for others' work-which he had alluded to. Much to my surprise, he named names and explained some of the background.
As someone else noted, perhaps his flurry of unabashed comments lately were related to his knowledge of how his health was-an industry veteran version of David Bowie recording a near-posthumous album while keeping his condition totally secret. I know that JA is a consummate gentleman and is probably 10x more gutted than I am.
