Which was, of course, the whole point of Meijas' regular column in Stereophile. It was supposed to be about a young newcomer discovering the hobby given the average elderly profile of Stereophile readers and audiophiles in general (yes, me too). Which is why he wrote about music from current bands instead of reissues of orchestral records originally made by long dead conductors when I was a child. It was to try to attract interest from younger folks. Not that this hobby needs them as I am hoping that it will die with me (NB:irony).
