Nor have I seen JA's review of the KEF. I am glad that it offers such performance at a real-world price. There were inklings around the time (a year ago) I reviewed the coffee-table book about KEF's history that they really were going all-out to really incorporate technology and not just marketing from the Blade, and it seems they came through. I saw an animation of the flexible port and was intrigued.
I have heard a fair amount of Unison Research stuff, and all of it has been musical, and some of it, particularly the S2K single-ended tube amp, was near-sublime, and for the silly small money they wanted when I reviewed it, it was a stellar bargain. Anyone who bought it back when I reviewed it, and, unlike many audiophiles, did not trade it away, must giggle with joy every time he sees it. A piece of review gear I remember very fondly.
BTW, Distingué Lovers is great, but my fave for such listening is Ella's "Cole Porter Songbook."
Cheers,
JM
PS: "Distingué" apparently shows up in "Lush Life" as the mondegreen "Distant Gray."
