I'll bet that the WE 91 smoked their pricer push pull amp! Fortunately, we do have, in the here and now, fine examples of SET amps and speakers that can be driven by them. My favorite system at the 2010 CAS employed a Teresonic speaker and a 2 1/2 watt SET amp. My favorite room at the 2011 CAS used a Sonist speaker and a deHavilland SET amp. My all time favorite digital system was the Audio Note one using their AN E speakers and the mighty Jinro amp. Compared to these combinations, 95% of the other expensive non-SET based systems sounded thin, flat, shrill, and tonally threadbare. The SET systems sounded like live music.
