OK, I'll be the first to whine. See the new (much improved) issue of Hi Fi News for Kessler's review of the Audio Research Stereo amp. Why no review in the works at Stphile? They raved about the preamp several months ago. Big problem for me; the amp has balanced inputs only, and I don't want to replace my CJ Act 2 preamp in a hurry. Called Audio Research in Minnesota, and they were outraged at even the suggestion of converting the amp to single-ended. Oh well, I'm not exactly unhappy with my VAC Signature 70-70; best tube sound ever into broken-in (finally) Watt/Puppy 8s.
