Any email sent an editor is assumed to be fair game for publication unless the sender explicitly requests confidentiality within the body of the email. Likewise, the name of a writer is published, although, unlike Stereophile, we do *not* publish the email address of the sender unless they supply it within the body of the text for reader response.If a writer requests anonymity, then the email is never published; no guts, no glory!
Anonymous email is *always* deleted without comment or action by me; who needs drive-by postings?
Like John, if a writer subsequently requests non-publication of an email, I consider the decision to be a judgment call, and will decide based on the particulars of a given case.
