Thanks for the reply but, if I may, I would like to suggest that you are not living in the real world. If somebody else has paid to provide the information I think you are quite wrong to hold it to the same standard as information that you have bought yourself. If the review is free or close to it then the responsibility must rest with the reader to determine if it is a pure advert, an ill-informed honest review or an informed honest review.

I would suggest how a person is rewarded for providing the reviews is upto the magazine/industry. The only basis for complaint would be if the process and relationships were misrepresented which, as best I can judge from the outside, is not really the case. They certainly get presented in the best possible light but information about what you consider poor journalistic practice is not suppressed.
