but it is frustrating, with all of the components out there, that so much attention is lavished on one manufacturer.I refuse to believe that there are not other, "undercovered" manufacturers who make good-sounding stuff and who would be happy to supply a unit for review -- even though I recognize that there is bad-sounding stuff out there (I agree: who wants to spend the time explaining in 1500 words why a bad-sounding product is bad?) and I recognize that some manufacturers, for all kinds of reasons good and bad, don't want to participate in the review process.
And I say that without with intending or implying or anything else that there is some illicit, improper, or under the table goings-on between Stereophile, "Sam Tellig" or JA and MF that results in this particular focus.
It is, in the end, an editorial decision, but one that this reader would like to see changed.
