Using Audio Research for Example. I doubt ARC manufactures any of the components that are used in their equipment. All the electronic components in the equipment come from China, Taiwan, Japan, or other foreign country(s). More than likely Circuit boards as well. Power transformers and output transformer? Not sure. Metal fabrication? Face plates?

FYI it's not just the added tariff tax you will be paying for. There is also, for better words, A paper handling collection fee for collecting the tax and passing it onto the U.S. Treasury.

There has been several threads/posts on Audiogon from members experiences buying audio related products from Canada. One member posted a thread about an amp that he had purchased late last year from Canada. He received an email his Amp was being shipped. He was given a FedEx tracking number. The OP's question was about the U.S. Tariff tax on imports from Canada.

He thought, was actually told by the President, Canada paid the Tax. Several members posted it doesn't work that way. The OP would pay the Tax.

So The OP calls the place he purchased the amp from. The OP posted back he was told the price for the amp was the same price. No change.

No idea how things turned out for the OP. Agon deleted the thread. Same as they do for all tariff related threads.

Before the Thread was deleted a member posted he personally knew how it works. He bought some parts from a business in Canada. Received an email saying, items were shipped FedEx and given a tracking number.

Shortly after, he received an email from FedEx. FedEx said they had received his package. Before releasing it for shipment to him he needed to pay FedEx for the U.S. imposed Tariff tax of $$ + a handling service fee for the tax owed.

Just going from memory he ended up paying almost twice as much for the items he had purchased.
