I have the same 1K resistors that you describe(br, bl, g, r), and they measured 1K. Let your multitester be your guide if you're unsure. Sometimes, Doc & Wes get different colored resistors, so they ship what they have on hand. I thought the same thing as you did. Hope that you're having fun building it. I am.
