Sweet Whispers Switch Problem

I've been really enjoying my Foreplay III for about 2 weeks now. I painted the top and veneered the sides with lacewood and finished it with tung oil. The only thing to finish it off I needed was some nifty knobs (thus no pictures yet). I bought some on ebay that were supposed to be 1/4 inch press on types. I tried pushing one on and no go. So, I tried pushing it on REALLY hard, still no go. Oh well, so I wasted $5, not the end of the world.
But... the switch I pushed on is now tempermental. It will cut in and out and frequently makes no sound. If I press down hard it does and if I jiggle it enough it will stay on. I've checked all other connections and everything is fine. Its pretty sure its the switch.
Any suggestions?
