Here's some interesting data I took on the hammond 193B and 193C. I also measured the 157J as a bonus.Manufactur Ratings:
157J 10H @ 65mA Rdc=205ohm
193B 12H @ 100mA Rdc=155ohm
193C 20H @ 100mA Rdc=181ohmMy meaurements:
157J @ 65mA DC bias and 10Vac
Rdc= 199.65 ohmsfreq henry
20 9.16
30 8.98
40 8.82
60 8.67
100 8.21
120 8.07
1000 5.815Capacitance between windings varied from 100-125pF from 7Khz to 40Khz. Resonant freq was around 6600hz
193B @ 100mA dc bias and 10vac
Rdc= 145.39ohmsfreq henry
20 13.25
30 13.064
40 12.916
50 12.785
60 12.71
100 12.46
120 12.36 @ 75ma DC the inductance was 13.0
1000 11.74Capacitance between windings varied from 115-140pF from 4500hz to 40Khz. Resonant freq was around 4400hz.
193C @ 100mA DC bias with 10Vac
Rdc= 173.65freq henry
20 15.136
30 14.3
40 13.59
50 12.955
60 12.578
100 11.488
120 11.14 @ 75mA DC the inductance was 18.26 H
1000 8.56Capacitance between the windings varied from 110-140pF from 5Khz to 40 Khz. Resonant freq was around 4800 hz.
The 193B and C aren't that far apart, exept when run at DC currents lower than their ratings.
