My widebanders and tweeters have about 150 hrs.I have placed them on a temporary baffle until I receive the ordered wood baffles and sub boxes.Currently I am using a 250 w Klipsch sub for the bass.
Everything sounds pretty good but I noticed some beaming or shouting on voices and on some piano notes but very frequency dependent.I put some test warble tones and the problem seems to be around 600-800hz where the warble tone seems to leave its position between the center of the speakers and project forward giving the impression of being much closer around my head.
Is this a matter of burning in or perhaps my temporary baffles are inadequate?
I have heard rumours of this behaviour so perhaps that is a weakness of the speakers?
I have changed amps but the problem persists and is quite obvious when you listen for it and on specific music/singing passages.
