This is what he said about the mains TX.

"the mains transformer is pretty much dead - it gets far too hot when on, makes a slightly funny smell and produces about half the voltage it should."

Looks like it needs replacing.

I plan to replace the components on the 300b tag strip and rebuild the driver board but hard wired. The question is what is a good substitute for black gates.
