Has there ever been a scientific study of the various wood materials available to the speaker builder and how they sound ? Materials such as mdf , hdf , particle board , void free plywood . Do these different materials have their own signature sound once drivers are placed in the cabinets ? What's your favorite wood based material for building loudspeaker cabinets and why . Comments and sources for further info greatly appreciated .
