I had the 1501RC and also encountered the same as you. Tube rollin played a huge factor and improved the sound drastically. But what keeps me coming back to Jolida products is that I can call Mike Allen (president of Jolida) anytime and get his advice on tubes or how to tweak it AND their support is second to none. My 1501RC volume dial developed a knack for turning all the way to the right when powering on. Mike sent me a new chip....to cut a long story short...I messed up the wiring and had it sent back and I got it back in record time.I have since bought the Jolida 502B which is a far superior product to the 1501rc however lacks the remote feature. I am now waiting for delivery of my Jolida envoy preamp :)
