Hi !Yes, the M8 preamp works very well with the SA-REF ! It's very accurate and very refined.
Sorry, I have not tried the SA-REF with many speakers ...:-) I think the SA250mkIV is still a wonderful amp. The SA-REF is a bit more subtle in the midrange and treble. To my ears, low-frequency behavior is the same.
