Building a GOOD power supply is NOT cheap. Manufactures wanted to get away from building big expensive power supplies. Enter the Class D - power for pennies.Believe me, if they could sell you a current amp that can make the profit margin they are making on Class D, right now we would all be chattering about current amps and not class D amps.
