... but not for the reason most people sell something relatively quickly that they've bought.
I really liked the sound and quality of the Saga+, but after about 3 months of use, I decided I needed a preamp with just a bit of gain -- not much, but unity just didn't cut it on about a 10% or 20% of my material.
I ended up trying a Lyr before I sold my Saga. It is only $100 more and uses the same 6SNY tube as the Saga. However, it is switchable between 3.5 dB or 17.5 dB gain. And, you also get a headphone amp out of the deal.
The 3.5 dB gain turned out to be perfect for my setup, and to be honest, I can't tell the difference between the two preamps in terms of sound quality, even though the specs on the Saga+ are slightly better.
The only drawbacks I've found is that the Lyr has only one set of inputs, but it happens to be that is all I need. (I did not buy any of the optional modules.) The Lyr also runs a bit hotter than the Saga, but then all Schiit gear seems to run hot compared to other gear. But it is not so hot that I can't touch the case.
So, the switch from a Saga to a Lyr has worked out fantastic for me. Count me a satisfied customer (I also have their Aegir amp and Bifrost 2 DAC in my main system and a Fulla DAC for my computer system.)
