But they ARE a very big hazard. Rivers change over time. Sometimes quickly or slowly and ALWAYS make you pay attention. A proper watch must be kept.
Underwater logging IS a thing. A 100 year old specifmen can be quite valuable. Specialty types, like instrument makers love such wood.
You're lucky you still had a boat.....
