A quick update - On the power amp board, I replaced a capacitor that was discolored (measured it after taking it out and indeed it was pretty bad), reflowed the solder joints of a connector plug that seemed to have very little solder, checked that none of the components were loose. Still no go. Now I could not get the power transistors to separate from the heat sink so I can look at the bottom of the power amp board. I'll post a pic in a new thread.
