Amp/Preamp Asylum

Looking for a new Amp or Preamp? If you're after tubes, post over here.

Am considering a change in my system and would like to hear some feedback. I am currently using a Cary PH 301 phono preamp and Parasound P/LD 2000 preamp. I use a very low output MC cartridge (FR 1 MKIII F) which requires a step up as well. I have an SAEC step up transformer which provides 10db step up. The Cary provides 60db for MC. Am looking at a Plinius Tautoro preamp which would replace 3 components. It is capable of 68db for MC. Do you guys/gals think that I would appreciate an improvement to justify the money spent? I have enjoyed the tubes with the Cary but I do worry about finding quality tubes in the future. I use very old tubes, Sylvania gold pins and Amperex bugle boys. Anyway, just would like to hear some thoughts. If you need to know the rest of the system, I can fill you in as well. Thanks.
