RE: Low level hum from preamp?




I just saw your question have you tried a cheater you now it's the plug that you plug your
preamp into and it by passes the ground. We call them cheaters. It sounds like you have
a ground loop. It's a cheap way to find out as there under 2 bucks. A friend had the same
problem and I had one in my box of tool I keep in my drill case. He also had a hum we tried
the cheater and it got rid of the hum. Another thing is try going a good set of mains not the
ones that cost $500 bucks there all stranded wire which creates Eddy Current distortion I
will try to send you a photo. I make them up my self the wire is solid core the same wire D&M
used for his cords. But I used hospital grade plugs and ICE connectors. Now these made a
huge sonic difference. Try the cheater first if it doesn't work get back to me my email is on
