The Sachs already mentioned by Cut Throat is a suggestion most would think of first. This especially if you want to stay in the 6SN7 camp. But if budget is also a big consideration, the Erhard Ella looks somewhat comparable for considerably less $. Same Aikido circuit design anyway. He also has a nice entry level pre-amp at around $1400, but it's based on 6922's, not 6SN7's. Bottom line is that I think the Freya+ is quite an overachiever at that $1k price point. So in end, I'm just speculating with no guaranty any of the above would be a substantial improvement or simply a pricy move sideways. Basically depends on your ear and system synergy.
