I'm assuming you are adjusting volume through the Dac and have the pre-amp at a pre-set volume setting?
Hooking up your turntable will definitely narrow things down to possibly being the Dac.
If it is the Dac, you should probably check both the remote and Dac settings.
Might just need a reboot on both the dac and remote. I don't have your particular components. Just relating to fixing problems regarding Video cable boxes and their remotes.
Goodluck and hoping it is something "user" fixable.
