Yes, I've been on the Welborne Kit path myself. In fact the last picture I posted was the upgraded DRD45 called the StarChiefs. It was one of the last kits delivered by Welborne until the 'demise'. 45 amps just don't have much power, so as you probably know, you have to have extremely efficient speakers. The 'real magic' of my 45 amps came when I bi-amped them with Hypex Digital Amps on my Khorn Bass Bins, which Freed up the 45 amps to power just the Oris Orphean Horn (115db) System. I built the Cabinets for my Hypex Plate amps out of Paduak Wood (Finished with Brix Wax) -- Pic Attached

I was surprised that your KT-88s are wired Ultralinear. Most audiophiles usually prefer Tiode mode. I just converted my KT-88 Amp to Triode from Ultralinear and much preferred that.
