Hey Dude. I think you might have misread the planar forum stuff. I think the recommendation was for a separate amp for the DWM panel, but not necessarily a high current amp. The high current amp recommendation was for running the MMG and DWM in parallel. OTOH all full range Maggies do better with high current amps and this may apply to the DWM as well.BTW the RM-5 is a great preamp. I have one of the first models and it has been in continuous use for over 35 years! I am using it now in my backup system, as I wanted a pre-amp with remote control for the main system but if I wasn't so lazy I would probably stick with the RM-5.
