Hi Utley, sorry to hear about all the hardship you been going through. Allow me to add my to 3 cents to the discussion.
1. Van Alstine builds great sounding and reliable equipment he still services and or upgrade some of his stuff that is over 12 yrs old. So I don't believe that you need to handle those at all, just place them in amp rack with caster to move them around if you want to clean your floors or whatever.
2. Consider getting class D amps their performance has improved dramatically, that said I don't have personal experience with them but Paul McGowan whom I have great respect for as a designer built them in CO they weight only 27 lbs, true balanced at the input, and stable down to 2 ohms.
3. A good friend bought a Wyred 4 Sound amp to drive his Magnepan since then his Odyssey Stratos have been sitting on the "bench", he loves it. 500wpc @ 8 ohms, made in CA, and currently on sale. Both amps have a generous return policy and cheap to ship
Hope this helps and Happy New Year!
