RE: Amplifier Input Topology

This is totally design dependant. The results could be anything from total destruction to nothing. I know of one commercial amp that will trip its protection circuit with as little as 100mv DC at its inputs.
In a fully DC coupled amp, that kind of input voltage could potentially destroy a speaker too.
Your design is potentially dangerous. A turn on delay and some form of protection is needed unless you know exactly what the characteristics of the amp are that it is connected to it.
