The Crestron CNAMPX-2X60 60 watt per channel stereo power amplifier, suitable for a super tweeter application is a great low-cost sleeper sometimes listed on eBay for as low as $100 used, often much higher based on its $1000 MSRP.It was designed and manufactured by ATI for Crestron's distributed audio network products. The build-quality is outstanding, built like a tank, featuring dual mono toroidal transformers, discrete high-current bipolar output transistors, and provides good protection circuitry for a super tweeter application. It sounds sweet and detailed when used with AMT super tweeters, IME.
The only caveat is that a 24VDC wall wart trigger needs to be plugged into an AC outlet at all times in order for the distributed network system power-on/power-off circuitry to operate. A button on the back of the unit needs to be reset if the trigger is turned-off for some reason, such as a power outage. Otherwise, it operates just like a conventional stereo power amplifier.
