It does and it doesn't.

Hi Mick,

Without naming names, I know through recent and direct communication
with two American companies who manufacture and sell direct to consumers
that the industry accommodation rates vary significantly: one offers 50%,
the other offers 10%.

EDIT: I meant to include the fact that the products in question were floor-
standing speakers that ranged in price (to the typical consumer) from 3-6K.

Not a lot of data points, but I thought I'd share what I knew from recent
experience. My other experiences with companies that have a brick-
and-mortar model mirror those generally expressed (40-50%), save for
cabling (where the accommodation tends to be even friendlier).


If you aren't quite noticing or accepting what is really going on in the present,
but are responding based on your thoughts or feelings about what ought to be,
then you are apt to collide with what is really going on.
