Groan. I hope you're wrong, but I fear you're right. In fact, I'm having flashbacks: I had one of the dreaded early Sony slimline DVD players with ridiculous vulnerability to tracking error messages. It made my life miserable for about six months. There were a lot of angry Sony customers. The next generation of Sony DVD player has done OK by me.Anyway, good thing that...
(1) I won't be getting rid of my backup rig, and
(2) Sony ES gear traditionally has a 5-year warranty!
By the way, the tracking problem continues to be ONLY on multi-channel SACDs. Not 2-channel SACDs, not normal CD's. Strange, huh?
