I tried the ECC81's in the 550ex, and just didn't like them there.
In the Linestage, the ECC81's were better than the Brimar/mullard/Amperex, which all sounded a bit too "tubey" to me. I haven't tried the JJ's, but would like to, if I can find a place w/good prices.
