Thanks for the review, Peak. I have sent one of my 2 SLA-1's off to D911 for the complete set of mods. I have been told that a new top plate that stands 3.5 inches higher will be installed to accomodate additional power supply capacitance, along with many, many power supply mods. Don told me about all of the mods, though many were way over my head. I will share my thoughts on his mods, whether or not the mods are worth the money, and will have a completely stock unit to compare directly with. I realize that I'm taking a risk, but have a good feeling so far with the project. As many have already said, the amp has plenty of room for improvement.I plan on using the ART amp for my 2 channel TV system, and maybe as a replacement amp for the lake cabin, rather than running tubes. I have to admit, that even in stock form, the ART is quite the suprise. It is much better than I'd imagined. I can't wait until I get mine back. I will send it off for the mods in the next couple of days.
