I've been using a Class D Audio SDS258 as you might have heard. It is a super clean sound though it won't do much for poor recordings or upstream components. I made my from their kit, though they sell compete amps today.
I won't make wild claims that it's better than much more expensive amps in general or even class D's. Now & going forward, I'm not going to have a lot of money to spend on hi-fi equipment -- what else is new? So as ever I have to look for very high value stuff and the SDS258 fills the bill superbly. I do feel it's better than the Tripath-based Bel Canto eVo2 I had a few years ago which was much more expensive.
I will say that my SDS258 does have super transparency, neutral mid-range, and solid, unbloated lows. These characteristics are common for class D's in general, (though I'm sure they don't all sound the same). Some people are going to like a richer sound, especially tube equipment fans. May be the Rogue models with the tube driver stage will deliver some of this; in any case they sound great from the review.
