"passive" pre grounding question

I'm building a passive pre and have a couple questions.

I have two inputs going to a dpdt switch to the volume pot to the output jacks. The positive and ground connect fine to the dpdt. I'm unclear as to how the "grounds" connect from the dpdt. This also is the issue as to how to ground the output jacks which lead to my amp.
